INSPECTION SERVICES

Inspections for existing
facilities and new construction.

Start with the type of work in front of you. We’ll confirm the applicable openings, site access, schedule, and reporting scope before the inspection.

ANNUAL & PERIODIC INSPECTIONS

Recurring inspections for occupied facilities.

For healthcare, senior living, education, hospitality, and commercial facilities. Applicable fire and smoke door assemblies are evaluated, with observed findings documented by opening.

ACCEPTANCE & NEW CONSTRUCTION

Inspections before project turnover.

For contractors, developers, and project teams. Newly installed assemblies are evaluated, with observed deficiencies documented before project closeout.

FIRE DOOR FIELD LABELING

A missing label doesn't always mean
replacing the opening
.

AES coordinates accredited fire-door field-labeling evaluations. When a fire or smoke door or frame has a missing, damaged, painted-over or incorrect label—or has been modified in the field—we help coordinate the appropriate evaluation and next steps.

Field-labeling evaluations are provided through an accredited evaluation process.

Eligibility is determined through evaluation. Not every opening qualifies for a field label.

What is the difference between an annual inspection and acceptance testing?
Annual and periodic inspections evaluate applicable openings in existing facilities. Acceptance testing evaluates newly installed, altered, or repaired assemblies before project turnover or closeout.
Yes. AES inspects fire door assemblies and smoke door assemblies when they are included in the agreed scope. Applicable standards, opening types, and reporting requirements are confirmed before work begins.
Yes. AES coordinates access, sequencing, and inspection windows around facility operations. Restricted areas, daily schedules, escorts, and other site requirements are confirmed during scoping.
Provide the property location, facility or project type, requested service, approximate number of openings if known, desired timing, and any available plans, door schedules, or previous records.
Deliverables are confirmed during scoping and may include the agreed inspection scope, openings evaluated, observed conditions, opening-level findings, status information, and documentation for facility, contractor, or professional review.
